Blockchains LLC is a company that describes themselves as using a storage mechanism called a ‘blockchain,’ for information, often associated with cryptocurrency, similar to bitcoin.
And they just moved into a 25,000 square foot facility in the desert outside of Reno. This is after they purchased land in the TRIC (Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center) where Tesla built its giga-factory. A lot of land. Like 67,000 acres of land. And not green, verdant hills. We are talking a desert landscape. To be fair to blockchains, they have great ambitions, also saying that they want to be seen as an incubator not just for blockchain technology but also A.I., 3-D printing and nanotechnologies.
On 67,000 acres.
With no apparent business model.
That’s a real bold move! My bet is they are going to produce some sort of hardware for mining. I heard about the possibility of a “blockchain town” – now that’s something I’d take a trip to see
